Watchers

hey there dA at large,

I've been in the garlic room of guitar beautification project steeping in new methods and techniques.  All the guys on YouTube that say "oh yeah, easy just do this .....  and voila! " ... they lie.
Each finish type requires skill
that means practice
that means patience
that means money
that means analysis, trial, analysis, frustration, minor breakthrough, repeat until mastered (or tolerated :) )

so I've been working on or have done:
Markered finishes - not too dificult (quality is a good as you can draw it)
Brushed finishes - more difficult (same for quality)
Airbrush finishes - difficult (learning to airbrush isn't easy nor a fast whip it up job)
Bubble paint finishes - again easier said than shown
Swirl paint finishes - after about 15 attempts, managed to pull off two that were decent to call done (learned alot for the next batch
HVLP base and color finishes - not too hard but must have good equipment and adequate space
Masking - an art all in itself - to mask or not to mask

regardless, I'm in the kitchen mixing it up with three guitars in cue .... just waiting for a breakthrough in the processes and tests
1.  Grey tones & Bubbled Strat (Nice guitar to use too)
2.  Black n Purple Swirl Les Paul copy (pretty decent guitar)
3.  Windows in space airbrush / masked Parker Fly (NICE guitar)
4.  Next up ..... possibly another Parker but I've gotta knock these out first .... I think.

If you get a chance, check out the finished products thus far:

until next time,
Enjoy
